They should port this to PSP
« on: August 17, 2009 06:42 PM »
Anyone agree that they should put all the episodes together and port Before Crisis to the PSP?

It'd sell well I'd think and its practically already done they just need to port it onto PSP. I think people who already have it on their phones would rebuy it since it'd be in widescreen and if SE put a extra episode or 2 in there.

I doubt they would make much money at all doing a PSP port, and I don't think it would be worth it. This game won't compete with Crisis Core or Agito which can make sales on its own as great looking PSP games, but BC is 5 years old and built for mobile. Have you seen this game running?

A serious remake, and I mean SERIOUS, would possibly spark interest, but I would still not buy this. From a developer standpoint, I don't think this would this be worth their time.

Looking at Sony's new app store I think it fits the bill perfectly, a 'light' styled game and an extremely cheap port they'd make their money back instantly

Advent Children - 20%
Dirge of Cerberus - 1%

You might need to catch me up on this money making app store. Are these the games like Linger in the Shadows and Bowling.

Its basically a new service in the PS Store that delivers smaller games by smaller devs with 100MB limit and $5 - $10. Basically if SE ported it, it would cost peanuts and they'd break even off the port after about 1,000 or so downloads/purchases which it would easily achieve.

Well okay that sounds reasonable. Still I wouldn't even think of buying this unless it gets upgraded. But I still don't think I will go to the local 7/11 to get a psn card for this. Looks like a snes game to me. Wait, being only on PSP I wouldn't even bother. Now I feel like an ass. :\

They would probably make a few upgrades such as widescreen and a better battle layout

I have to say - the story does look quite intreging. But the gameplay leaves much to be desired.

BTW, have any of you seen this site: Gunshot Romance? It has a pretty comprehensive script for the game, as well as a couple of cool pieces of fanart.

I might check it out, but incase they eventually do port it I'd rather not, maybe in a few years if there's no sign of a port.
