Gaming Discussion / Re: Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is a cinematic and evolving thriller from Quantic Dream, the developer behind the critically acclaimed Fahrenheit. Dealing with a range of adult themes, the game revolves around a sophisticated plot and strong narrative threads that explore a complex moral proposition. You assume the role of multiple characters, with very different backgrounds, motivations and skills, in a world shaped by Bending Storylines - a dynamic narrative design where your actions and decisions will shape your story.

Gaming Discussion / Re: God of War series
« on: October 13, 2014 03:01 PM »
The God of War franchise is a series of action-adventure games available on Sony PlayStation consoles. It chronicles the exploits of the anti-hero Kratos and his quest for revenge on the Greek Gods for the death of his family.

HeartGold and SoulSilver take place in the Johto region of the franchise's fictional universe, which features special creatures called Pokémon. The basic goal of the game is to become the best Pokémon trainer in the Johto and Kanto regions, which is done by raising and cataloging Pokémon and defeating other trainers. The games are bundled with a peripheral called the Pokéwalker, a pedometer resembling a Poké Ball which can connect to the Nintendo DS game card via infrared signals.

Gaming Discussion / Re: FFXIII PS3 topping pre-order charts
« on: October 13, 2014 02:59 PM »
Certainly, it remains true that when a franchise has been exclusive to one of the two aforementioned platforms for nearly 14 years, the vast majority of its fans have continued on with that platform. But with everyone saying the PS3 version is slightly better, that might also have had its impact on the pre-order numbers: as noted by VGChartz, FFXIII has hit the pre-order chart and the PS3 version resides in the #3 position with 338,765 reserves.

LittleBigPlanet 2 empowers users to create their own levels by utilizing a variety of developer tools as well as various games like top-down racing games, multiplayer shooters, flying side-scrollers, RPGs and more. The game begins with a unique story mode that provides a beautifully reshaped world for Sackboy to explore and play. Each story level is influenced by cultural high points in history.

I am somewhat interested in this game but I have so little faith in SEGA that I'm not sure if it could be worth the money. After the disasters that Empire and Napoleon Total War were, and with how lame the character Bayonetta was I'm not sure they know wtf they are doing.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Lets watch Sony E3 2009!
« on: October 13, 2014 02:50 PM »
Sony's E3 announcements this year seem a little overshadowed by Microsoft's. It was going to take something special to top Project Natal and although Sony has its own motion sensing control system, it just doesn't seem to have the 'wow' factor of Natal. And the announcement of the PSP Go would have been more impressive if the console hadn't already leaked out.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Introducing MotorStorm Apocalypse

The MotorStorm outfit, having done dust-bowls and jungles, has packed bags and shipped out. Their destination: a coastal city that's in throes of a natural catastrophe -- and what better place to kick-start another MotorStorm festival?

Set over a three day period, MotorStorm Apocalypse's backdrop is rapidly disintegrating -- You are there when it happens, and this is survival racing! Throughout the game the city will be ripped to pieces, in real-time, as you race.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Microsoft Recap
« on: October 13, 2014 02:46 PM »
All in all, this was obviously intended to be a games-heavy show. Almost no mention of hardware news, TV functionality, sales, or anything else beyond the games, which is a bit refreshing after last year's conference. No mention of any Xbox 360 games, either, and very little mention of anything coming to PC. Also barely any mention of Kinect. They definitely have some good stuff coming down the pipe, but it would've been nice to see more of the freshly-announced games running in realtime rather than dropping CGI trailers, but that's E3 for you.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Nintendo Recap

Nintendo comes out with a fairly significantly goofy animated and live-action intro with Reggie and Iwata going at each other. Looks like they got the Robot Chicken guys to animate some of the transitions here. At least these guys look like they're having fun.
